Cygne, c.1922
Oil on panel, signed lower right
28.50 x 22.50 cm
History:
The subject of this work, a swan, is quite unusual in the artist's production. It is likely that this painting was made in early 1922, while Jouve often goes with his future wife to the Saint-Cloud park, where swans frequent the lake. This work was probably part of the exhibition devoted to Jouve organized at Haussmann Gallery in 1922.
